Failed septic systems can be a significant threat to water quality. To help homeowners properly maintain their septic systems, the NHEP offers a variety of outreach materials, including a maintenance folder and an informational video. The NH Department of Environmental Services recommends that septic systems are inspected yearly, pumped out every three years, and kept free of harmful products. For more information, see the links below.
